What to do during a typhoon

What does your family do when you are caged up like animals for 3 full days? We just spent Saturday, Sunday, and Monday holed up in our apartment as a typhoon passed over the island. This is the second one this season and we are already nearing our wits end trying to figure out how to keep entertained. For Shaun, that's a no-brainer: sleep. Sophie's bed is his favorite locale.

For the kids, it's a little more complicated. They've assimilated the term "I'm bored" into their vocabulary. Sophie taught it to Doobie. There's only so many things you can do:

Play dress-up:

Have "cooking class", a flavorite Sophie past-time:

Get snuggly and watch movies:

And last but not least, get crafty!

Needless to say we were relieved to get back to our routines today, although Sophie wished for another typhoon day once she saw Shaun had gone to work :( Oh well, there's always the next typhoon, forecast for this coming weekend. . . . .

I love that picture of Soph looking at the fish! I think she looks a little bit like Drew Barrymore :D
