Strong Like Bull!

Happy Year of the Ox! No baby news yet. . . .I have to say that although I wanted to deliver earlier, I am relieved that our baby will NOT be a rat-baby. I'm sure rats have some good qualities, but aesthetically it just wasn't working for me. Who wants their sweet baby girl to be labeled as a rat? I'd rather have her be "strong like bull!" According to Sophie's school lessons, the ox is patient, a good listener, and inspires others with calm assuredness. Doesn't this sound more like the qualities little Suzy Q is going to inherit from her parents?

This 3rd pregnancy has really kicked my butt in the end. In fact, when prompted to clean her room or take off her shoes, Sophie has taken to saying "I can't, I have a tummy ache and can't bend over." Hmmm, where did she learn that from?? I am one round mound of rebound, and pretty uncomfortable at this point. Shaun laughs at me as I try to get up and move after being down for a while. Last night after watching an episode of the office, I rolled off the couch and started to walk when suddenly there was a small earthquake. Shaun joked that it was me causing all that trembling and shaking--nice, so I'm an elephant (he got in minor trouble for that remark.)

The kids are having fun celebrating CNY--Sophie made a dragon and other fun crafts for her party at school, and Lucas got to don one scary mask at Kindermusik! We took the kids to see Madagascar 2 yesterday, and then afterwards went to a park to get them running around and tired for bed. Lucas found a discarded firework stick on the ground and was thrilled with his discovery. He lugged it all the way from the park to a pizza joint, where I made him put it outside the door under the guise that he couldn't take it in. True to my hopes, he forgot about it. . . .until we were home and then he had a FIT! He woke up this morning whining over and over again that he wanted to go to the pizza store to get his firework. My goodness. He must be getting older--his memory is way too good. To save my sanity I assured him that Shaun would take him to the firework store today to get a new one. Now he is torturing Shaun in bed. Why not kill two birds with one stone?

I will be induced Wed. or Thurs. at this point--it's coming quickly. I can't wait to meet our newborn daughter! We will take lots of pictures and send along news soon!

I didn't know you were expecting! Congrats... and I know how those last weeks feel. I kept breaking Claire's bed whenever I would try to read her a good night story. Good luck with your delivery. Your kids are beautiful!
