Update on Typhoon Krosa

We are all fine. This morning after it was all over, I went out to see what happened in the neighborhood. Branches and downed trees were everywhere. Lots of debris and damage to other buildings. Luckily we didn't experience any broken windows, but the big, glass main-entrance doors to the ground level lobby shattered and blew out. We're glad that our car was parked in the basement garage, and there was no problems with flooding. In past years, there have been times when parking garages flooded. Most of the structures in Taipei are reinforced concrete buildings. I think that most homes in the US wouldn't withstand the winds we experienced. It really was something. I'll try to post some video later. As long as we stayed inside the apartment, I don't think there was much danger for us. We had plenty of food, water, candles, flashlights, etc.., but fortunately we didn't really need to go into emergency mode. Lots of people were without power, but we have a large power generator for the whole building, which gave us uninterrupted power.

HI Guys! I'm glad you guys were fine during the storm and that it's passed now. It doesn't get too boring over there, with roaches and typhoons! My goodness!! :)

I'm so happy you started a blog! I also have a blog (although it is more for pictures than for writing) so check it out. Have you met a family in your ward, the Pasquals? They were in our branch here in DC and we miss them a lot. Please say hello if you see them.
